CLC chairman Lindsay Bookie has been returned in an election at Tennant Creek and for the first time, the council has elected a woman, Gina Smith, as its deputy.

One of the Northern Territory's biggest national parks, Gregory, has been handed back to its traditional land owners. Immediately leased back to the government under joint management arrangements, it's expected the change will bring greater employment opportunities for its traditional owners and a greater say in management decisions.
